Honda radio code FAQ

Answers on serials, VIN lookup, Acura, navigation codes, newer power-button unlocks, and our free request form.

Where can I find my Honda radio code?

Check the glovebox anti-theft card first. If it is gone, find the radio serial and use our free request form, Honda's official US lookup, or a dealer with proof of ownership.

Why does the radio say CODE after a battery change?

The anti-theft feature locks the unit when power is lost so a stolen radio is harder to use. The original code unlocks it again.

How do I get the serial with buttons 1 and 6?

Ignition on, radio showing CODE, radio off, hold 1 and 6, turn radio on, read the U and L digit groups, ignore the letters. Full steps on find serial.

Can I get a Honda radio code from my VIN alone?

Not on our form. We need the radio serial. Honda's official US tool typically needs both VIN and serial. We do not claim a VIN-only lookup.

Do you cover Acura?

Yes. Choose Acura in the brand select and pick your model. The site stays Honda-focused.

What about the navigation code?

It can be a different number from the audio code. Use the serial for the device that is asking.

Are codes free?

Our retrieval request is free. Honda US describes its online lookup as complimentary. Dealers may charge.

Do you unlock stolen radios or work without a serial?

No. Owner recovery only, serial required, consent required.

How long does email delivery take?
